Common connectors on bench and lab test equipment include:

  • BNC — bayonet coax, ubiquitous on oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Banana plugs / binding posts — for multimeter and power-supply leads.
  • SMA and SMB — small threaded/snap RF coax connectors for higher-frequency signals.
  • N-type — rugged threaded RF coax for higher power/frequency.
  • Alligator / crocodile clips and mini-grabber / IC hook (grabber) clips — for attaching leads to test points and component pins.
  • Oscilloscope probes (often switchable 1×/10×) with ground clips, and IC clips / SOIC test clips for connecting logic analyzers to ICs.
